Fresh off his amazing verse on Kanye West’s ‘Jail,’ American rapper, DaBaby has jumped on and released a video of his version of Wizkid’s ‘Essence,’ Jonathan Lyndale Kirk better known as DaBaby flaunt his rap skills in a freestyle cover to Wizkid’s biggest song of the year, “Essence”.
The Rapper shot an official video for the two minute freestyle put apand posted it on his YouTube channel gaining over 700,000 views and about 7,900 comments in few hours and is expected to increase with time.
Since its release, Essence has been a fan favorite across the world. Canadian musician, Justin Bieber even tagged it ‘the song of the summer’. Bieber sang in the remix of the song and a video was shot to this accord. The original version has since moved into the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and The remix of the song holds the number seven position on Apple Music’s Top 100: Nigeria.
On August 31, 2021, Essence featuring Tems became the most searched song on the music search platform, Shazam.
