Who is Don Jazzy

Don Jazzy was born on November 26, 1982, in Umuahia, Abia State, but is a Delta State native. He was raised in Ajegunle, Lagos, when his family relocated from Abia State. He had his traditional primary, secondary, and higher education in Lagos, although he showed an early interest in music. According to his company’s website, he began playing the drums at four.

During his secondary school years, he adopted the stage moniker Don Jazzy. He had a strong interest in music and could play musical instruments such as the guitar, piano, and various percussion instruments with ease. Because of his exceptional ability to handle musical instruments, his friends gave him the nickname Don Jazzy, which eventually replaced his given name. He ultimately accepted the term and adopted it as his stage name. His father had a background in music entrepreneurship, so we may say it runs in the family. He was one of the pioneers in Nigeria who tirelessly fought to build professional artiste management and corporate music industry frameworks.

Don Jazzy attended Federal Government College in Lagos and graduated from Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma with a degree in Business Management.  James Collins Enebeli, Joy Solano (married), and Charles Collins Enebeli are his three siblings. Charles Enebeli (D’Prince), his brother, is both a singer and a businessman.

Don Jazzy as a Successful Producer

Don Jazzy began to learn music production and became affiliated with Emeka Infiniti’s O-Town record label. With his background in business management, the musician went on to found a record label. When Don Jazzy returned to Nigeria with D’banj, his desire to advance in the music industry was satisfied. They teamed up in 2004 to form Mo’Hits Records, which was such a success that he had completed two albums titled “Rundown/Fuck you up and No Long Thing” in two years and was working on the third one.

As the record label evolved, he signed more artists (Wande Coal, Dr. SID, D’Prince, and KaySwitch). He collaborated with international artists such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, Snoop Doggy, and Beyoncé. Wande Coal’s Mushin 2 Mohits was produced by Don Jazzy, who also provided backup vocals for the songs. In 2011, Don Jazzy joined the Very Good Beatz, which Kanye West owned. He collaborated on some songs with Jay-Z and Kanye West, including Lift Off and Watched the Throne, which featured Beyonce. As a result of the songs going viral in the worldwide music arena, he received global notoriety.

Don jazzy as a Successful Record Label Owner

Don Jazzy and D’banj had an incomprehensible cause to end their relationship after a few years, leading them to seek independent careers in music. As a result of the split, Mo’Hit was disbanded in 2012, giving birth to Mavins Records.

Don Jazzy founded Mavin Records on May 8th, 2012, with one goal: to become Mavin Records a “production powerhouse of African music,” which he has accomplished. Mavin Records has caught the attention of the entire world, and it is home to some of Africa’s most outstanding performers. Countless prizes, hit singles, corporate endorsements, and other honors have been bestowed upon the musicians.

Mavins has made a significant contribution to the development of Nigerian music. Its mission is to find and groom outstanding young musicians for roles in local and worldwide music scenes. D’Prince, Wande Coal (Departed), Dr. Sid, Tiwa Savage (Departed), Iyanya (Departed), Ladipoe, Korede Bello, Reekado Banks (Departed), Di’ja, Jonny Drille, Crayon, Ayra Starr, Boy Spyce, Magixx, Rema, and the DNA twins are among the musicians who have signed with the record company. Altims, Loudaa, and Baby fresh are among the in-house producers.

Don Jazzy argued with Olamide at the 2015 Headies Awards. They couldn’t agree on who should have received the “Next Rated” accolade. Don Jazzy’s artist, Lil Kesh of YBNL Records, was defeated by Reekado Banks of Mavins Records. The prize included a very nice car for the winner. Following that, both parties issued public apologies.

Don Jazzy as a Successful Businessman

Don Jazzy is already a success and a powerhouse in the music world, and he has expanded his business portfolio as a savvy entrepreneur. In 2013, he and his younger brother formed Mavin Energy Limited, a company that specializes in oil. The business delivers petroleum goods to homes and businesses, including diesel, petrol, kerosene, and cooking gas.

He makes a lot of money from corporate sponsorship deals. Don is a brand ambassador for MTN Nigeria, Johnnie Walker, Konga (a Nigerian internet retailer), Samsung Electronics, and LOYA Milk. He owns outstanding landed estates and enjoys driving exotic cars.

Every decision we make is based on technology. He worked with Nigerian technology guru Dele Odufuye to establish Flobyt Wifi in 2017 since he is a brilliant person. Flobyt Wifi is a free wifi service that would allow Mavin music fans to stream their favorite songs from partnering sites throughout Lagos State. Don Jazzy recently signed an ambassadorship agreement with Quidax, a crypto currency startup, and reports have it that he also controls VFD Microfinance Bank, a wholly digital bank based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Don Jazzy is undoubtedly Nigeria’s and even West Africa’s wealthiest and most successful music producer. He does not have a single album or tune to call his own despite being a singer, composer, producer, and performer. He has, however, produced some of Nigeria’s most popular songs and is the owner of the Mavins record label, which boasts an impressive roster of artists. His net worth has been estimated to be in the millions of dollars. However, no Nigerian record label can match Mavin Records’ successes as one of Africa’s most organized and structured record labels. None at all.
