British/Nigerian rapper Simbiatu “Simbi” Abisola Abiola Ajikawo, better known by her stage name Little Simz, returned to the NPR tiny desk series to perform lush and laidback renditions of four songs from her incoming album ”Sometimes I Might Be Introvert”.
With her new album release just days away, the rapper offered listeners a peek into what the new body of work is sounding like, during her Tiny Desk concert. Positioned comfy in a couch, flanked by a band that includes bassist Kenan Shepherd and talented guitarist Chrio Blake, the rapper starts off with a rendition of “Introvert” before beautifully transitioning into a milder and more sensitive number “I Love you, I Hate You“. Moving on, Little Simz tapped into her Afrobeats roots, delivering a collaborative effort between herself and fellow London-based act Obongjayar
To land a beautiful icing on the cake, Simz and the band of instrumentalists closed up the set with a sizzling rendition of ” Woman ”, the very empowering lead single off the album.
