After months of anticipation, Ghanaian-born British rap superstar Stormzy (Michael Kwadjo Owuo Jr.) has finally unveiled his third studio album to the world. He tagged the project “This Is What I Mean.”
For a few months now, there has been an increasing amount of hype about the album, with fans eagerly anticipating the release of each tune on Twitter. Prior to the album’s official release, the rapper had already revealed the list of contributors, which further stoked the anticipation of fans everywhere.
On “This Is What I Mean,” Stormzy deviates from the grime and rap sounds that has being a signature of his over the years, this time he leans strongly toward more mellow compositions along with calmly-sung melodies almost all through the album.
The 12-track LP includes the hits “Hide & Seek” and “Firebabe,” as well as joint efforts with artists including Ms Banks, Black Sherif, Oxlade, Sampha, Ayra Starr and more
