Iconic Jamaican reggae/dancehall singer Protoje has unveiled an official music video for his latest single, “Late At Night” featuring reggae songstress Lila Iké
A crisp new official music video for the fourth track from Protoje‘s upcoming album ‘Third Time’s The Charm‘, which will be released on September 23rd. ‘Late At Night‘ is the most recent release by Protoje that cleverly mixes 1970s American soul and 1980s Jamaican lovers rock.
The rhythmic foundation of the song mimics Pam Hall’s 1981 Late At Nights, which was created by Gussie Clark. This new version, created in conjunction with Lila Iké, adds a deeper sense of social commentary to the original, which was recorded by the Philadelphia soul group The Stylistics and Detroit’s R&B vocal trio The Jones Girls.
