With “Free,” Nasty C breaks away from creative constraints to explore a bold fusion of sounds, from his signature hip-hop roots to touches of house, rock, and traditional South African genres like maskandi. The album features standout collaborations with notable artists, including Blxckie, Usimamane, DJ Speedsta, Tellaman, and Tshego.

Singles like “Leftie (Dlala Ngcobo)” featuring Blxckie and “Soft” with Usimamane set a high-energy, melodic tone, while introspective tracks such as “MSP” featuring DJ Speedsta showcase Nasty C’s lyrical depth and emotional range.

In describing the album, Nasty C shares, “Free is about feeling free to be creative and do all sorts of different new things. It’s letting go and being unapologetically yourself.” He also reveals that life outside music, including spending time working ordinary jobs, helped ground him and inspired the authenticity behind the project.
