After a long hiatus from the Nigerian music sphere, talented rapper Mz Kiss has made her return with a brand new EP titled “Raised to Power 2,”.
This time, Mz Kiss works with top producers including Sess, whose discography includes Falz, Adekunle Gold, Reminisce, Simi, Yemi Alade, and many more, Rexxie, Burna Boy, Naira Marley, Zlatan, Busiswa, and Tspice, who has produced tracks for Davido, Runtown, MC Galaxy, and others.
On the 6-track project ‘Raised To Power 2‘, the opening tune, “Fame” tells a melodic tale about how the artist previously experienced stardom and the effects of its pressures. In the EP’s lead single, ‘Kilode‘, Mz Kiss sings passionately while challenging her partner with some crucial questions. The second single, ‘Farawe’ (Far Away), produced by Sess, features singing and rapping in both English and Yoruba. The other songs are the Rexxie-produced ‘What Is Love‘, ‘Gbewa’ and Tspice-produced ‘Ife O Ni Baje‘, a love song that offers some insight into her private life.
Rapper, singer, and composer Mz Kiss, real name Akindele Justina Omowunmi, hails from Okitipupa in Ondo State, Nigeria. In 2010, Mz Kiss released her debut song, “YOU GO CRAZE,” which marked the beginning of her actual music career. She was formerly signed to CAPITAL Hill Music and has worked with artists including Falz, Ill Bliss, Wizkid, CDQ, and Niniola.
At the 2016 Headies Awards ceremony, Kiss was a nominee for the Rookie of the Year award category.
