The smoldering second single ‘Personal Baby‘ from Mr. Eazi‘s upcoming album, which has yet to be given a name, features a return to his distinctive Banku Music style .
On “Personal Baby,” the sultry second single from his next, as-yet-untitled album, Mr. Eazi returns to his distinctive Banku Music style.
The song which was debuted on The Dotty Show on Apple Music, is produced by the Grammy-winning Nigerian hitmaker Kel-P . A dismal future is depicted in the video for “Personal Baby,” which was also released and was directed by Ademola Falomo.
“Personal Baby,” a brooding love ballad that Teni and Mr. Eazi co-wrote, reimagines the smooth, mid-tempo Banku Music style that Mr. Eazi pioneered with songs like “Skintight” and “Leg Over” but with a darker edge. The song is the follow-up to June’s “Legalize” and the second single from Eazi’s upcoming album, which has taken nearly ten years to complete.
According to Eazi, the album is a compilation of artistic works, with each track graphically represented by specially commissioned works by various contemporary African artists. Through carefully selected metaverse and physical events, these pieces—which combine Afrobeats, Web3, and real-world activations—are tokenized and shared with the general public. You may learn more about Mr. Eazi‘s ambitions in a recent ARTNews piece, which you can read HERE.
