GodsFavor Chidozie also known as Fave has captivated the hearts of millions of afrobeats lovers across the globe. Her breakout single “Baby Riddim” is now a household tune, making millions to randomly sing “my baby bad” at every corner you turn to in Nigeria.
Before Baby Riddim’s success in 2021, Fave had first featured on Olamide’s “Uy Scuti” album (she appeared on two songs), with PonPon gaining a massive airplay even till today. Fave’s new fame encouraged her enough to drop her debut project, and she released “Riddim 5” on the 20th of January 2022.
The 5-track work of art reached the number 1 album in the country, adding her name to an illustrious number of top artistes to achieve this feat. This matured piece of art has incredible replay value, as Fave keeps stunting on us with her amazing vocals, cementing herself as one of the topmost breakout artistes in the country till date.
TRACK TO TRACK ANALYSIS
The E.P begins with OBSESSED which seems to be the second most played song off the project, after Baby Riddim. The singer expresses her obsession for the individual she is professing love to in the song with blissful lyrics and a sonorous rendition. A good pacesetter for the other songs coming.
The next song titled S.M.K which is translated “Shey Ma Korin”, was produced by top producer Niphkeys. One thing about Fave is that she will deliver topnotch vocals every single time she is called upon, and that was the case here. Her blend of Yoruba, pidgin and English on this song is so impressive, you’ll forget she is an Igbo babe.
KILOTUFE is the third song off this concise project, and includes a mandatory head movement when you listen, because the beat has that vibe which Fave’s voice blends pretty well with.
MR MAN is certainly a huge fan’s favorite, as it is arguably Fave’s best vocal rendition on the album. It has that cool calm and collected vibe that demands you to play it again and again and again. Fave really did the thing on that track.
Finally, we have the record breaking and super viral BABY RIDDIM that encapsulates everything that Fave represents; amazing vocals that can make you move any day and any time.
E.P SUMMARY
The E.P consists of 5 songs equaling 14 minutes and no features at all. The producers on the track accordingly are; Krizbeats, Niphkeys, Produca Wa, Saszy Afroshii & Damie. Her maiden project has set her on a pathway destined for greatness, and we cannot wait to hear more from her.
