5 THINGS TO TAKE AWAY FROM BLAQBONEZ’S CRUSADE (A BLAQBONEZ CONCERT REVIEW)

On the 13th of February 2022, Blaqbonez held his first ever concert which he titled “Breaking the Yoke of Love Crusade”. From his creative campaigns which got the whole country reacting, to him releasing a fire line-up to join him in ministration that day, it was already looking like a huge success. Blaqbonez can be proud that his maiden concert was sold-out, as he and his friends’ thrilled fans with stand-out performances in both music and comedy. The timing of the concert is also quite brilliant, as it started on the night of the 13th, and finished the early hours of the 14th, which was Valentine’s Day; what better day than the 14th to be Indaboski and not be a preacher of love?

Here are five key things to take away from his concert “Breaking the Yoke of Love”;

Blaq is a star!

Blaqbonez is undoubtedly a top dawg in the music industry, with this concert cementing his position without any arguments. A sold-out show with huge amount of people in attendance gives you the freedom to brag differently. Additionally, seeing Blaqbonez perform his songs live would give you an idea as to why he believes that he is the best rapper in Africa. His live performance shows he puts in a lot of work in his practice, and constantly tries to improve himself to sound better for his fans. From Shut Up to BBC to Haba and Okwaraji, Blaq performed these songs with his live band, rapping his heart out.

After the concert, it could be understandable if he wants to talk that talk, because he has clearly walked that walk.

Importance of good friendships in Blaq’s success

The most amazing thing about this concert which sold for #3,000 per ticket was the monstrous line-up of ministers he was bringing to the crusade. Buju? Ckay? Mayorkun? Falz? MI? Bella Shmurda? For #3,000? A steal in my opinion. This concert will be talked about for years because of the association of Blaqbonez’s friends and acquittances, who showed up to make sure the crusade was a blessing. His best friend Cheque was in attendance, and they had an emotional moment on stage, sharing to the audience how much they grinded to be where they are right now. Minz, who brought Blaqbonez out at his concert in December, also performed at the sold-out concert as well. PsychoYP who also is one of Blaqbonez’s “day ones” in the industry entertained fans immediately he came on stage with his “about  50 other guys” on stage according to Blaqbonez.

Most of these people grinded hard with and for Blaq when he wasn’t so popular, and it is truly significant and amazing to see him winning with them all, and bringing them out to bless the expectant congregation.

The concert was Pushing 5 P’S (Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance)

In terms of personnel management, scenery set-up, security, amongst other things, this crusade was one of the most organized concerts Nigerians have attended in a while. First off, the venue was not too big or too small; and since it was sold out, it held the capacity of people who attended without for once seeming like the organizers oversold tickets. There was also proper security at the venue, as well as people and risk management control. Food was in excess, and was sold at reasonable prices. Cocktails and alcoholic mixes were also available for those who wanted their eyes a bit dirty. Blaq said the concert was going to start 9, but it actively kicked off at 9:30pm, 30 minutes later than communicated… which isn’t so bad considering how Nigerians have suffered in the hands of artistes when it comes to concert timing. The only hitch here was the fact that the next day was Monday (annoying workday), but the idea would have been lost if the concert wasn’t done on that day because Blaq wanted an anti-love concert on Valentine’s Day.

Conclusively, it was a well-managed and organized concert, and everyone left getting more than their money’s worth.

MI still got it

Mr. Incredible did his thing when his set on the Blaqbonez’s concert came up. He thrilled fans with Choc-city essentials, while putting on energetic performances all through. As the DJ spun his nostalgic tracks, he rolled back the years and reminded us why he is the “African Rapper Number 1”. From Undisputed Champion, Anoti, Action Film, to Overkilling, Nobody Test Me, and other certified classics, MI’s set could arguably be one of the top 3 performances of the guest artistes who came through. A real celebration of timeless music.

Josh2funny and Brodashaggi are not normal

Its one thing to bring Josh2Funny for a concert, but adding Broda Shaggi to the mix? Catastrophic; in a good & funny way of course. Josh2Funny, who doubles as “Papa” aka “Music Machine” & “Dance Machine” thrilled fans with his outstanding comedic covers, and best of all, his ministration coat. His viral parody version to “Dior” by Ruger was chorused by thousands of people at the concert during his set, and it was honestly amazing to witness. Broda Shaggi on the other hand came with the Cherubim and Seraphim vibes in all white, alongside his battalion of choristers. He previewed his new single with Falz which got the crowd rocking, and still engaged in one or two crazy displays, as it is his brand. It is an understatement to say that the fans were thrilled and thoroughly entertained with the comedy part of the crusade.

Conclusively

In conclusion, the success of Blaq’s concert should encourage other artistes (rappers in particular) to organize concerts and events where fans can enjoy their music, without necessarily waiting for Detty December, when the calendar is too jampacked.

Blaq has sealed his strong start to 2022 by dropping smash hit “Commander”, and was trending recently for deceiving people that he was in a relationship. After preaching sex over love, it was ironical seeing Blaq post a girl, claiming her to be his babe. However, the storm that was brewing was weathered when he posted two other girls with the same initial caption, confirming it was a publicity stunt. All in all, Blaq is an excellent artiste with innovative publicity ideas, and we can’t wait for the madness he will unleash this year.
